4th gen seats in 3rd gen

Will fourth gen seats bolt right into a 3rd gen? Or do they need to be modified?

Since the seach is broken, you'll only recive 3 lashings

j/k.. they bolt right in...

Don't let 'em yank your chain. 4th gen seats bolt right in, including all of the accessories (like seat belt guides) using the original hardware. For me it was a 30-40 minute job with the right tools. The right tools are, a socket set, a box end wrench set (both metric) and a philips head screwdriver.

Personally I'm biased but I think it was money well spent.

GL!

I wasn't yanking his chain

Some seatbelt guides (like mine) are totally sealed around the belt. so i took a hacksaw and cut between the screw holes so when they are reinstalled, you would never know.

Since the search is broken, also note that:

The stealth ram fits under the hood.

Yes, you can swap the V6 for a V8, but it's a ***** and not worth the effort. Buy a V8 car.

It's called the EVOLUZIONE kit and it fits like sh*t.

And this just in.... TBI still sucks.

deadtrend1 I wasn't referring to you as pulling his chain, sorry if it came off that way. It was more the crap about the search.

My seatbelt guides are sealed as well. I unscrewed them from the headrests and, using the original hardware, screwed them back into the holes in my 4th gen headrests. I never needed to remove the belt from inside the guide.

Again my apologies I didn't mean to offend.

Correct on cutting the seat belt guides, beat trying to remove the seat belts. Only 12 fasteners to remove & reinstall seats. While the seats are out is a could time to clean the interior carpet.

Just as easy as the front seats. Only difference is if you have the split rear in your car now. 4th gens have the solid rear. Not too hard, as I did it in my car. 4 bolts and the new rear seats are in.

just to add what 88aziroc said about the rear seats, if you have the split back seats now, you will have a bar in the middle that won't be used anymore. you can either cut it out (only if you're sure you're sticking with a 1 piece back), or you can just leave it there. i just left it there and you can hardly notice it.

'Cuz we're poor.

Are their any other options for your rear seats, other than A. custom upholestry, or B. 4th gen seats? Obviously racing seats, or just about any GM seat will fit in the front, anyone know of any other seats that will fit in the rear without modification?

Probably not, huh?

Stick with third gen seats. I don't think there are any other options. The 4th gen rear seats are the same except they hold on to you a little better. I don't know how the ride is though, never get back there.
