shaved fuel door

Hi all I shaved my door handles and my fuel door. I have solenoids for the doors my problem is the fuel is currently in the rear hatch compartment. I want to place it behind the tail light like a ***** mod please no flames they stole it from the 60 lincoln continentals! Anyway I thought a pop out rear light would be cool and all this seems doable but if anyone has any specific advice or has done similar please give me some details. I want to use a very thin metal pipe to let the fuel in but not sure if this will cause flooding or back spray. Anyone else relocate their filler will help me a lot.

Who in turn stole it from the 55 or 56 Chevys.

Judging by the shape of the area behind the tail lights, I don't think routing a flexible hose behind the 1/4 panel to the tail light area will be difficult. Your biggest challenge is going to be figuring out how to make the light easily removable.

You could make a hinge of the side of the tailight near the license plate.....

Then install some sort of locking mechanisim or solenoid to pop it open...

then the tailight would swing open and you could pump gas there....

You will need to extend the wires for the lights also.....

Just hope you dont get some sort of spark from your lights! Thats probably unlikely, just have some sort of saftey gadgets on there. Cool idea tho. Ive never seen a car with a shaved fuel door.

I don't think I'd go through all the trouble because nobody would notice it... they'd just assume the fuel door is on the other side... but hey, that's just me

Haha lol You could route the filler into the rear tire well, you would have to fabricate a metal box to go around the filler neck as to not allow water, mud and other crap onto the cap and into the tank. But with that you might hit it when you have the car loaded pretty good in a corner or hitting bumps. And plus you need to have it at an angle going upwards to allow the fuel to get to the tank and not pool in the modified hose.

Why not just put a fuel cell in the trunk area? Pop the hatch to get gas. Not to mention a cell in the back makes you look fast
