Cracked Dash

Anybody else have this problem? The dash in my 85 camaro sport coupe is cracked right down the center. This is the hard plastic part of the dash, not the top pad. Is this common? I'm pretty sure that it is not due to body stress from drivetrain torque as this is a gutless v-6 car! Just curious if anyone else has had this problem? I can about imagine what this will cost to replace the dash assembly.

Search the boards for more info but that happens because of the cold it happens a lot .. it happened to me. Dash pads can range from like 40 to 100 check eBay.com and the junkyards

Hey folks, thanks for the replies to my thread, but.......... after reading through them I realised that y'all are talking about cracks in the TOP pad of the dash. My problem is with a crack that runs through the ENTIRE instrument panel. Like if you sawed the dash in half! Anybody have THAT happen?

Actually, The dash was like that when I bought the car. Just wondering if this is a common problem with these cars before I spend a lot of time and money to try and replace the dash only to have it happen again
