90-92 Interior...Inside Please

My 90 IROC-Z has a leather wrapped steering wheel that has the leather tearing at the top of the wheel and it's driving me crazy. It looks like the standard 90-92 steering wheel material (vinyl?) under the leather wrap. Any body else have this and just pulled the leather wrap off?

i have a 92 z28

mine came with the leather wrapped steering wheel from the factory.

i can't complain about ripping, but some of the stitching is loose, about 2 places i think. so i just tuck it back in.

what i did this summer was buy one of those cheap wal-mart steering wheel covers, the blue "R" racing one, and put it on.

rs has vinyl and z has leather..........i had to pay 340 for a stock replacement from gm minus the air bag. so either tear it off and add a "skin" or go aftermarket.

I ripped the leather off of my 83 Z28 steering wheel. There was a bunch of yellow sticky stuff underneath that was hard to get off....

After that, I just put on a wrap-on steering wheel cover.....
