Removing inner fender/splash guards
I have done a search on this and found nothing of relevance. I want to rustproof the Zee and to do the front wheel well I have to remove the black plastic spashguards. How can I do this and reuse the little clips?
Any help appreciated

Pull the center section of the clip out first, then the rest will come out easily.

Thanks Jim, how do you mean? Take a pair of pliers and pull the square head straight down? I guess my problem is that I don't know how the clip works- what does it clip into? Thanks

That is unless somebody replaced them with the generic push-in style, in which case you just use pliers to pull them out.

Shoot them with WD-40. Note that on either side of the head (the round piece) there's a flat spot/slot. I simply used a flat-bladded screw driver on either side and pried upward enough to get a needle nose on the stem. You can reuse with this method.

I take a pair of wire cutters, and pry with those, that way I can get under both sides at the same time, and the little wedges used for cutting slips under the head of the stem easily. Just pop them out, DON'T be cutting them off... It seems that about 50% of the time I pull the stem from the retainer, but you just push it back in, after its out of the car of course...
