The retractors in our cars are a little tempermental. I don't know if there's a fix for it...but I'm constantly giving it a quick little tug to keep it tight.

SEAT BELT RETRACTORS IN 82 FIREBIRE

Does anyone know if there is a fix out there for a broken retractor?? Does anyone know how to replace the Retractor? Mine is stuck in the full-open position, and will not retract at all. Please help

That sir is bad, too bad they didn't offer a recall for your year. I know there was a seat belt recall, just can't remember which years it was for.

lol My 87 Iroczs pax side seat belt if someone pulls it all the way out it stays there (only part of the time can I get it to go back in). until I get pissed off enough to go out & take off the back part of the headliner & stick a screw driver up in there to break it lose.

Take it apart and clean it out, then relube it. Or, buy some new ones. Even if the seatbelt does lock, if it's really loose how far forward will you go in a wreck before the seatbelt does any good?

On my car through the windshield on th epax side when the seat belt is acting up.
Thats why no one rides in my car in the front seats.
