Like anything that ages everthing starts to sag. Start by checking the door hinges and go from there.

um, how do you manage to get a car on its side without ruining it... and couldnt you just use a piece of metal you found out back and weld it to the car instead of spending 200 bucks.

that car is stripped and is on a whirley-jig... same concept as a rotating engine stand. and yes you can weld any old piece of metal to connect the subframes. you just have to do it right though... clearance, exhaust, strength. you can spend time doing that or spend 200 bucks. I didn't want to bother with all the welding and weeks of measuring and fabrication and trying to learn to weld. So i saved some cash and had them installed. Took all of four hours.

Subframe connectors (SFCs) are reinforcement bars to connect the front and rear subframes together. F-bodies aren't designed with a complete frame, just a front and rear subframe connected by the floorpan. The reason your doors are sagging and you're getting stress lines in the paint is because, over time, the car itself sags between the subframes. SFCs fix this huge GM oversight and get rid of door problems, dash and t-top rattle problems, and tighten up your ride a LOT. For more information, browse the Suspension board, there's TONS of information there.
