I was wondering if I need any special tools to take the old one out and put a new one in? How would I do it? Do I have to take the whole steering column of or something? Thanks for your time.

The steering wheel has to come off before you can get to it... I thought it would be an easy job myself, but no.

On Camaros, I believe, the stalk can be 'gently' pulled from the column.

On my T/A all I did was unplug it from under the dash. There should be a little tube conatining the wire for it. THen I pushed the lever back and turned the lever toward me and "unlocked it" THen I just pulled it through the column slowly. The install was the reverse of removal. Just feed it through the column.
THis is if you have the turn signal/cruise control/washer lever all in one.
Look where the lever connects and see if it can be unlocked.

Were there any changes in turn signals from 82-92? Did they switch from vaccuum to electric at some point? There's a guy on Ebay who's selling new turn signals at $30 apiece, but they only fit 82-89 he says.
