Fuel Tank Leak - Repair or Replace?
I need advice from anyone who has had a leaking fuel filler neck. Mine started leaking almost two months ago after I replaced my fuel pump. The leak started at the top of the filler neck the first time I filled the tank. So, I dropped the tank when it ran almost empty and got a good look at the leak. It was just a pinhole that was barely visible until I turned the tank over and tipped it toward the neck. I was pressed for time, and being rather cheap I used some metal epoxy on it and reassembled the car. I've driven it for 7-8 weeks and just noticed the leak is back.
Now...Should I break down and buy a tank and get it over with, or has any one had a lasting repair done?
I hate to replace it, because the rest of the tank is in good condition - no winters.
I think it could be resoldered, but I don't want to try it myself.
Also, I know about the recall, But have also heard that it has been discontinued. Besides, I don't have time or patience to screw with GM.
What would you do, guys? Thanks.:hail: :hail:

mine leaks, but i think your's is different, because on mine the little metal flap thing that opens under the cap, that you stick the gas pump thing in (if you know what i'm talking about) well anyways that thing is stuck open, and it leaks like a siv (sp?), it leaks all over the paint and stains it yellow, and it sucks *****, so i usually just don't fill it up, but my gas gauge isn't right either, so that doesn't work too well either.
