Hatchback Replacement

I had a small fender bender in my '86 IROC, and I managed to find a hatchback of the same year, model, and color of my car. I purchased it, and replacing it seemed like an easy task. Basically, take off the hydraulics, and the four bolts that hold the hatch onto the hinges.

The hydraulics came off no problem, as well as one of the hatch bolts. However, the other three bolts are rusted on there - one of them is stripped. A few questions:

1) The black covers on top of the bolts, they are meant to come off, correct? (I had wanted to re-use as much as possible, but at this point, I don't care much.)

2) If so, what type of tool will fit the bolt?

3) If they are rusted and stripped, how do I get it off? Is "blue wrench" my only option? I hope not, for I do not own, nor know how to use one.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Leave those bolts on the glass and remove the hinges from the car. I believe that is what I did when I swapped out hatches a couple of times.

I've got an extra set of hinges and bolts if you need them.

::Smacks head::

Thank you, SO much! I will try that tomorrow, and I might need the hinges/bolts.

I've always been bad for thinking outside of the box, lol.

I live up in Maryland, so hopefully shipping won't be too much. I'll get back to ya on that, thanks again!!

It looks like it will work, but I will be needing your hinges/bolts. Email me at afterburn176@yahoo.com if you're still interested in selling them. Thanks again!!
