Trans Am vent hood ???

Hey, was wondering how I could make these open up, checked under the hood, metal covers them up,(Why did GM do that?) If I cut it out would it damage the structural integrity of the hood? Any ideas on how to cut it? My motor runs hot, just thought it might cool it down a lil...

BTW not my car...

You can open them up any way you want, however, no air will get past the top of the radiator support. The hood closes to tightly for there to be any way to make the vents functional. I really wanted to make them functional myself. Your best bet is to make sure your air dam is in place and the front of the radiator is free of debris.

HTH!

Thats my problem, no air dam no one on the east coast has one that isnt insanely priced. Theres a camaro down the block from me that just sits on the street was thinking of "borrowing" his, but would feel like a dick doing that...

Why the f*ck did GM design it like that? Non functunal scoops are crap...

Dude, the air dam is $23 from the dealer. Do yourself a favor and get one on there.

I also opened up those vents, cut down my radiator support and made a custom ram air box for my TBI'd engine a couple of years ago. Just so you know it can be done.

You can try here but be aware my site is in a state of being redone and is mostly a horror show of broken links right now.
