Tire Rotation

Ok, I just found out that my front wheels are different from my rear ones. This poses a problem when I try to rotate the tires. What should I do?

.

The rear wheels were made deeper to fit the brakes in the back. Otherwise there is really nothing you can do. I am in the same boat

If your tires have free rotation, take the car up to the shop that installed them and tell them to rotate the tires and let them know that they have to dismount them first since the front and rear wheels are different offset.

As stated. the tires have to be dismounted and rebalanced. And I don't think your free rotation is going to cover it. One of the many advantages of owning a 3rd Gen car.

Most shops will give you the free rotation, but charge for the dismount/mount and rebalance. FYI, the FRONT wheels stick out further than the rear--to clear suspension stuff. The brakes aren't a problem. The fronts will work on the front and the rear of the car, while the rear's only fit the rear. If you can get a couple more front wheels(so you had a set of 4 front wheels on the car), you could do rotations and everything would be fine.

i cant even change mine from left to right cause i have directional tires. I think it will cost about 50 bucks to have the tires moved around.

Again, one of the advantages of owning a 3rd gen car. also you never rotate tires left to right anymore, always front to rear on the same side.

If the directional tires aren't asymmetric, you can rotate side to side if you dismount and remount the tires putting the inside sidewall out. However, if they are asymmetric(like my eagle GS-C's) they cannot be put on the other side of the car. My GS-C's have a separate left and right tire
