Question about spare tire well and the supports inside...
I am trying to put a 4 gallon fuel cell in the spare tire well to store WATER not FUEL, its for an air/water intercooler setup
I can make it fit but to make it easier on myself i wanted to take out the thin piece of metal that goes from the top of the fender to the bottom that was used by GM to store the spare tire and the jack
I was just curious if any of you think i might be compromising the structure of something somehow
thanks

Heh... You can take the poor man's route.
Check the other side.
If it has the same piece of metal, then do not cut it out.
But if it doesnt have that piece of metal, chop away.
I figure car's are like *********, if you feel a lump on one side, it is only a problem if the other one doesnt have it.

Just to let you guys know i already took it out and made a post in the power adder section since that is where i felt it would be most revelant
It is held in by 9 spot welds. 3 and 3 on the top (there are two separate pieces) and 3 on the bottom, all i did was chisel them out
lots more room now
