I need to put new carpet in my 92' getting kinda fadded...
What is a good company with resnabole prices?
Is there a tech post on whats involved in taking it out and then cutting it?

Careful with acc, i've heard of people having problems with their carpet fitting correctly and the durability of it. I've never tried it myself, just going on what i've heard.

How do their prices run?

 

I got mine from Classic Industries.. its ACC carpet. Fit fine, looks good. Carpets a bigger PITA than I thought it'd be though. Do it on a warm day..make sure you lay it out in the sun for a few hours to get it nice and soft, so it molds around everything and stretches nice and tight. I did mine on a cold day in February...trying to stretch it tight was like trying to hand mount a tire on a wheel! I did it, but...would have been a lot easier if the carpet was soft.

 

I bought my ACC carpet from somebody on Ebay that usually deals in Mustang parts. Since all of the carpet is shipped directly from ACC to you, and has nothing to do with the middle-man, just order from whoever is cheapest. I paid $195 for my set (front & rear).

 

Was the carpet preformed at all? Was it already cut? I know Hawks thirdgen parts has carpet sets that are pretty much drop in. They just happen to be more expensive.

My carpet from ACC fit great!

I had to trim a little from the area my the door sills, that's it.

 

The ACC is pre-formed, but they're all cut a little oversize to allow for exact fitting. You have to trim at the door sills, around the rear seat bottoms, and cut all the holes for the seat belts and seat mounting bolts. There's no such thing as "drop it and go". I think I paid around 180 or so for mine.

 

So did it cover the passenger area and the cargo area? I know some of them are seperated. Like from Hawks and Thirdgenresource.

$180 sounds alot better than $290 from Hawks.

 

Like others, I had to trim a tad at the door sills, and also had to trim around the emergency brake handle. Nothing difficult. I didn't bother trimming below the back seats... it was a tight squeeze but they fit fine. The carpet was molded perfectly and fit very good.

 

I don't mind cutting the holes for accessories and belts. That's not a big deal. I have done recarpetting the old fashioned way and would prefer not to do it agian.

 

What's up with the with console or without console option on the carpet sets? Would or shouldn't they all be the same?

 

I think all the carpets sold are 2 piece. I have a 'vert, so I didnt have to worry about the cargo area. As far as the console, thats just a cut out in the carpet for the shifter and e-brake handle. You'll still have to do some final trimming to make it fit right. I guess the non-console carpets have no cut-out at all.

 

I am now installing ACC carpet, it looks good, I will post my opinions on the install in a few days. 1AAuto is the best source, I paid $180 for pass and cargo for the same ACC carpet everyone else sells for $250+.

 

As far as the console/no console option....I asked the same thing.
Year one told me that most cars do have a different carpet for the console and the "no" console. Because of this, all ACC carpets are sold with that option, but on our cars, either way you order it, it's the same part number. So it doesn't matter.

 

That's a great price. The cheapest I could find was $195. Since I'm going to need another carpet set for the IROC, do you mind sharing who you bought from?
