USABLE Power window switches?
I am going to attempt a 4thGen console swap in my '87 IROC. I know that I'll have to rig up a new mounting location for the power window switches and rear hatch release switch.
No problem.
My question is this - With the newer console, I don't want to use the OLD looking stock window switches. Can anyone tell me what other _GM_ switches will work? I saw the recent Saturn post but those may be too big.
I'm looking for just a plain, yet newer style switch that has an up and a down (unless one of the auto-down ones) will work.
Are most of the GM window switches just two or three wires? Basically cut a hole for them and pop 'em in, and wire 'em up?
Thanks,

I wired up some 96 Camaro switches in my car a couple of years ago.

I just couldn't figure out the wiring for the mirror controls. I could control one side to go up and down and the other to go left and right so I just left the mirrors in the right position and put the stock switch in the console compartment if I needed to adjust them.

The window switches in my 2000 Grand AM are rather small. No clue on the wiring though. My 87 Grand Am had rather small ones too. So when your at the yards you can check out 85-91 and 99+ Grand Ams. Not sure on the switch size of 92-98.

That pic was taken back in 2000 or 2001, and it is the 86.
and ya, the car has had many different parts on it, but I am selling it now. I found an 87 that I want to put the motor into.
