Insane Car

Check this thing out, I looked at it, and its a freakin firebird.... Theyre sellin it as a johnson. The trunk is the dead giveaway, the coulda dropped a TPI in it, but theres too many signs, its doors (inside and out) most of the interior, holy crap haha.

HOLY COW!! Ive seen some outrageous kit cars for f-bodies (tojans, evoluzion, etc...) but this one takes the cake. I wonder how sound it is. I mean they tore down parts of the unibody to creat that monstrosity.

Kinda cool mostly a waste of what appears to have been a GTA.

Yeah, I'll agree that the guy who built it was definitely a JOHNSON.

I can't digest why they put a f-body interior in a car like that.

They didn't. They built a car like that around the f-body interior. That used to be a GTA. Check out the windshield, engine, firewall, door jambs, etc.

They didn't put an fbody interior into anything....The car originally was an 88 Trans Am or a GTA. They built up around the Fbody those hideous body panels. Look at the fire wall inside the engine bay...fbody....look at the radiator support....fbody.....look in trunk area...its an fbody.

Well to those who don't know, the Johnsons like these are a actual Kit that was designed by Johnson Motor Cars in Miami Florida.

Here are a couple of links for you. Other then the interior really doesn't match the car, I think it looks awsome, I would drive it, but would change the interior to match the look of the rest of the vehicle though.

Does this guy consider everything neo classic?

I'd love to buy one of those, and get a jag v12 for it. Dont worry I'd make a tech article.

I know it was an f-body. Out of all the cars to start with, why an f-body??? They aren't the most luxurious cars in the world.

You can make a thirdgen look like almost anything if your up to the challenge. Can you believe this is an F-body? I can't remember the site where I found it. But the show an exploded view of the kit and give some basic instructions. It's expensive as you might imagine. But while we were on the subject I thought you might get a kick out of it.

That is ane evo kit.

I like the johnson. I have always wanted a car like that. I also looked at that web site. They have some very nice cars. Love the 90 Rolls.

I don't really think he just put a johnson body on an F-body. I mean, look at the wheelbase.

It says it was an f-body platform, but I don't know how they extended the front wheels so far without weakening the chassis.

I believe it has a full frame under the car now, therefore avoiding any problems with the chassis.

I have seen those up here, its a pretty neat car, but why they would use standard interior parts with all that exterior trim is beyond me.

Interestingly enough I have seen similar kits also done with 79-85 Rivieras...

pretty neat, not for me, I like my Formula the way she is.

that evo kit - holy ****. that is hot. If I had an extra firebird laying around and $8000 I might think about it. Only because no one where I live has anything like that. And some import tunner will come up thinking you got import and BAM! you crush him with a domestic yet again........
