I did it with fiberglass bondo...but it was hard to get it to form correctly. I would either A. Take off the logo you have now take the paint of the back and paint it body color B. Cut out a piece of fiberglass that will fit the hole exactly and fill it in with resin slowly in steps. C. Leave it as a thought.

Have you thought too of getting the "CAMARO" emblems that can fit in the sideskirts?

Just a thought.

Or, to actually answer your question, you could use something actually made for patching and repaing flexible parts (such as urethane gfx)

http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/e...er/output_html

It is a two-part kit that contains a black and white resin. When mixed together in equal amounts, they form a grey urethane that bonds to almost anything. If applied to a properly prepared urethane part, it not only fills holes and pits, but also bonds the parts together.

deadbird....that stuff sounds interesting but......how much would that tube cover and how much is it?

let me get this straight....the front and rear bumpers are plastic and the side gfx (rocker and door peice) are fiberglass?

anyone else have any ideas?

You could probably fill it in with a plastic welder, and then smooth it out. They're like $30 at Harbor Freight when they run a sale.

bubba.. a 5oz 'kit' runs roughly $30-40 (area depending). As far as coverage, I couldn't honestly say. Using it, I would trim some filler pieces from a junkyard car bumper (any will do) and cut them to best fill in the emblem indentations and glue them in place. Level with a grinder if needed then fill the edges and level any grinding marks with the 3M. Prep for paint as normal.
It might be somewhat more costly than improvising with something that 'works for now' but, it's up to you ultimately on how well you want it to last. Everyone has their own way of doing things.

I just went to carquest today and bought the 5895 adhesive kit. It was $45 plus tax and it comes with 2 5 oz. tubes that you dispense what you need and then mix it up similar to epoxy.

I have to repair the mounts on my f/x and I had even posted a question about it earlier on this same board but nobody answered it. I was going to use "pliobond" to try it but that stuff is just not the right product. I know this stuff will work great and hold forever. Thanks deadbird, I went right to the 3m website and looked around and found way more then I had imagined. There are all kinds of awesome automotive painting and refinishing products there that will be extremely beneficial to me in the upcoming month on my restore. There are even videos there that show the Automix 5895 application in process.. Its really cool.

Hey I'm bumping up this topic too....

anyways, with this filler stuff, are you proposing that you just take the filler and fill in the nose, and shape to the curve of the front? Or suggesting that you cut out some pieces of other bumpers and glue it in the front? It's confusing me there....

and like what is the consistency of this stuff? Is it something I can slap on and shape to a perfect fit of the nose and let dry? Or is it too liquidy and I need a solid to "glue" in there?

thanks for any help, and sorry about the confusing question/s?
