adding hatch release the hard way
I've read many articles on how to do this, but ll have been lacking one thing. Pictures. Does anyone have any before and after pics? I yanked a "fuel filler door release" solenoid from my dad's car (Ford Tempo) because it has been missing pieces since 5 years ago. The pulling part works fine. I just need some pics to see if I can make it work, or if I should just get a GM solenoid.
I've seen a gm solenoid and the differences as far as I can tell are the mounts and the pull cable thing is a little longer. I was thinking of mounting it anywhere within reach of the existing mechanism, and tying the solenoid pull cable onto the same pull cable that I assume connects to the key cylinder. Then I could sue botht he key and the electric release
