Pro Am spoiler for Formula

that wing is nothing special , i have that stock on my 85 trans am . maybe he wants to make it in fiberglass, i like the spoiler on the 88 firebirds, the one that looks like a 5 inch spoiler. the mecham is still the best , bruce make the mecham and you will be G0D.

bruce, what spoiler are you looking to reproduce? if it's the one that jovial86 posted, what's the difference between that and the stock pedestal spoiler?

The hood came on this car, which is the wide body kit for the fbody...this particular car is an 83, found it on ebay a while back....

The mecham spoiler was on this car...its appearance is similar to the early 82-83 trans ams except for paint and decals and of course the new spoiler.

the Mecham spoiler is def. one of the best looking spoilers for the birds (heck i bet it would look good on camaro's too (wink, wink, bruce). i would love to see a car with the Mecham spoiler, and the IMSA hood.

I think 88 was a unique year for the f-body, it was like pontiac and Chevy wanted to wear each other clothes for a while. The Base Firebird got a camaro style spoiler optional, and the more common camaro got an optional wing like a firebird would get.
I like that spoiler, the Z20... I think the Mecham is a little nicer appearance wise tho...

I think even a stock aero spoiler that was lifted an inch or two in the rear would be slick looking.

I think it would look nice because it would look almost stock, and people would scratch their heads and wonder....

plus it would look similar to the height of a 4th gen spoiler but it still has the 3rd gen concept.... and the increase in height would result in greater downforce at higher speeds... i love the idea and as long as it is fiberglass i would def buy one... i would love to be a part of designing the piece if is actually thought of being made

I saw one of these today. Like the spoiler in nolanr0413's picture. It was also on a red Firebird. It certainly caught my attention. You don't see too many of them around. It did look like the back of a '79 Trans Am.

So any more news Hawk's? There are a lot of spoilers here that just beg 'Remake me and give the TGO people a group order deal!'
BTW, does anyone know where I could get a Mecham spoiler?

The Mecham spoilers are rare to say the least. If anyone ever finds one we need a mold made!
I would love to put one on my 84 bird.

We still dont know where one is... I have been searching bone yards for over a year now and still have found nohting... we need a nation wide search for that spoiler i would love to have the mecham spoiler, but the problem with any fiberglass part is they always fit like **** when u first get them , especially a spoiler, bu ti still would love to have one.

okfoz.... lets try and make up an aero wing that is 2" higher than stock... this will make it more functional and will look a whole lot more badass... and if we got a mold made im sure people would buy a whole lot of them... if they were competitively priced lower than the stock fiberglass replacement
