seat install, need help...

Ok im ready to install 99 T/A seats in my 86 ROC. got the back seats out fine and the back rest out. I tried to get drivers side seat out, but bolts are super tight. My question is will I strip the bolts or anything else if I put too much pressure on it. Yes I did use WD-40 and liquid wrench, Please help, I want these seats installed.

You could break the stud off- I had a really rusted nut on one of my '84 p-side seat. I ended up cutting the nut off with a Dremel and small cut off wheel. Stud was ok. Try soaking w/ wd40 again. A little heat from a torch is good, but only if you plan on replacing your carpet!

If it breaks, you can drill it out and put a bolt up from underneath the floorpan- seal it with some seam sealer/ POR-15 or whatever.

Hey Briansz28, thanks for the responce. I guess i had to wait for the liquid wrench to work cause i just went outside to try again and supprisingly they all came off without a problem.
Passenger side will be easy cause I had them out a couple o years ago to put my amp in. Damn, that just reminded me, now I have to relocate it cause it wont fit under the seat with the pumps under there. Well, now its too dark to do anything, I will wait til tomorrow to put em in. I'll try to post before and after pics soon.

Yep it does. (Rust that is) Mine was because of a t-top leak I had that used to drench my carpet. Since my car got painted a year ago, they put new t-top seals in and hopefully they will hold up. After seats new headliner and carpet will be in order. But i need money first.

You will love those new seats. I just did the same thing in my 84 and they are fantastic. Now, I plan to put the 6way seat over on the right hand side and the other seat on the left. I am in Australia and want the better seat as my drivers. It looks as if I will have to make up a bracket for each seat because when you switch the seats, they sit too close to the console and at the wrong height in the rear. Will let you all know how it goes.

Meeting up with a mate tomorrow and will attempt the big switch from one side to the other. I will have to wait till another day to move the switches over. I am thinking about making up a separate switch plate at the front corner of each seat. They should move pretty easy considering the switches arent hard wired to the motors. I am thinking that the seat covering where the switches are mounted wont fit on the opposite sides. Any ideas guys about whether the covers willl work on their opposite sides?
