Is it the electric release/pull-down version, or just the regular cable release/manual?

There is a tech article that outlines alignment of the rear deck lid.
https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...tchalign.shtml
You can use this article to replace it as well, alignment requires removal of the decklid from the glass just the same as if you were replacing the decklid.
You can also check out this... http://www.deadbird.org/cgi-bin/yabb...num=1060623850 because about 1/3 of the way down the post, I re-aligned my decklid for the purpose of getting my new spoiler mounted correctly.

To add.. 82-92 decklids are all the same (minus holes for spoilers) regardless of what the latching mechanism is, The only thing you need to do is unbolt the original catch off the original decklid and put it on the replacement lid.

Ah, I didnt even know there was a tech article for that! Ya I'd say follow those then, probably would be the easiest way. Good luck.

I've seen that question come up before, and I think the answer is yes. If I remember right, my brother switched his '89 hatch motor out for one from the junkyard from an older model and it was the same thing.

well they r both the same. i took off both hatches then took off one of the hatchs deck lid and pulled off the glass, then went to take off the other one soon as i get to last screw guess what, it will not uscrew!! the bolt turns the screw i played with it for 20 min but got no were. so i put them both back togeather and back on the cars.i wasted 3 hour of my day and got nothing done.
does anyone no how i could get the bolt/screw off. its the one on the fare left going into the glass. when i turn the bolt the screw turns with it, how do i get it off?
