I'm not much into engineering, but shouldn't that tow bar be connected to the rear sub frames? I don't think the pan of the rear trunk can support any kind of towing load.

I wonder if he knows how thin sheetmetal is. IIRC floor pans are about .100 thousanths thick.

I'm kind of curious if there's a 5th wheel hitch in the hatch
That, at least, makes me feel a little better about some the the questionable things I've made

all you did was bolt a plate to the bottom of an aluminum trunk!

go ahead.. hook something up to it.. and watch your entire trunk bottom be ripped out.

tow bars are bolted/or welded to the actual frame of a truck. i get a good laugh when i see cars with tow bars. especially camaros, because they dont have a complete solid frame throughout the car. tow something heavy enough and watch it rip your car apart.

not to mention even if you "were" able to get something behind your car.. what do you think is going to happen if you need to put the brakes on even semi-hard?? what ever you're towing is going to crash straight to the back of your car. nice one man...

Actually if your read his post well enough you would see that it is not his car... As for the subframe issue you mentioned. A sub frame vehicle can actually haul a lot of weight if it is done properly. For instance... I have a 89 Safari Van with a class III Reese hitch. It in fact is a uni body and not full frame. I haul a 1500# trailer with a 3000# car on it. No problems ever!!!

Oh yeah the bottom of F body cars are not aluminum BTW.
