What do you use to clean inside of windshield

What does everybody use to clean the inside of their windshield so there is no streaks or smudges ? I cleaned mine like 10 times yesterday with store bought class cleaner and paper towels and it looks great but then the sun hits it and you see streaks !

Any advice ? The cleaner I bought said streak free but......

I have really good luck in the morning when its cold outside and I get a little condensation on the windshield. I take a Microfiber cloth and wipe away, I did this once and it looked like there was no windshield or windows...

I have seen the cloths at Autozone or Advance

I know I got into an argument with some other people about windex a few months ago, I know windex does not agree with all plastics, and If I use it on my car windows I will spray it on my rag and then wipe on-wipe off. daniel son.

I think the key is to clean the windshield when it's cool. A buddy of mine(non smoker) just uses his chamois on the inside after he's done wiping the car down it always looks real good. You just have to leave it kinda damp but not too much.

THAT would probably work well...

I like to clean my windshield and windows right when my breath will fog it up at 2 feet away, then I breathe on it and it foggs up, I wipe it off, and it usually looks great...

I just use windex, it's good stuff. Wipe it real good with paper towels till it starts making that loud squeeky noise...If the window is really dirty or you want it REALLY clean, use an abrasive window cleaner first, then use windex afterwards. Just look for something abrasive...I use zaino, then the windex. The windows look great, but i've never actually got the black dirt to stop coming off the window onto the paper towels when i use zaino. Eventually i just give up, when it starts getting hard to see the glass i'm cleaning That stuff really cleans though

PS. Dont use abrasive glass cleaners on tint or defroster grids though....Or plexiglass

yep, windex and a cloth

I usualy take an old cloth (that I have set aside for real dirty objects) and knock off all the sand and stuff before I use the windex with the clean cloth. we got alot of sand here in Phoenix.

One of the oldest window detailing tricks in the book is to use any type of towel you want, with any type of cleaner you want, as long as you finish up after the job with a dry news paper. The news paper wipes any smudges or deposits off very easily and leaves nothing but clear glass behind.

Step 1: Apply cleaner.
Step 2: Use towel to wipe the cleaner around a bit. Remove all of the moisture that you can.
Step 3: Wipe with dry news paper sheet. Simply crumple up the sheet and wipe those smudges away!!!

Micro-fibre has my vote. No residue of chemicals on the dash and gets rid of all the streaks (and quick).

Being an old coot with cars over the past 42 years,
I now only use one thing:
It is 3M glass cleaner + and clean terry cloth towel.
You may have to look a bit to find it.
It is in a aerosol can.
Once you use it, I think you'll be convinced too.

I just tried these armourall glass wipes that someone got for my B-day. It didn't look like they did much while wiping but after dry the results were sweet!

The best I have ever used is Mothers step 1. Just use a little bit. Wipe it on let it haze and wipe it off. Works really well for smokers

Remember that the inside of your windshield is not glass. It is coated with two sheets of plastic. This prevents most of it from imbedding in your face at impact.

I use the GM glass cleaner available at your local dealer. About $5.50 a can. Spray on, it foams up, spread around with newspaper. Use a seperate sheet to clean off.

Works great inside and out. My wife usually steals the can for the windows in the house. I have to buy two cans.

HUH?!?
Thats a new one... Actually your close, but not quite, they take 2 layers of glass and sandwich a thin piece of plastic between the layers. the INSIDE and OUTSIDE of your windshield is Glass... I have pieces of the inside glass stuck to the little rearview mirror mount that is real glass from the junkyard.

On similar note, when they make the windshields and the outside layer is no good but the inside is, and they have a good outside layer. they can not put the two together because the shapes are not exactly the same and they will break...

Strange.

I saw an '88 GTA in the boneyard that had the plastic on the inside of the window and not the outside or sandwiched in the middle.

Must be a varient or different requirements depending on the year?

I use a squeegee for the biggest part and get the sides with windex and paper towel.
