'Bubble' style tail light question
If I took off the 'bubble' part of my '88 TA tail lights would they have the same dimensions as the '82-'84 style T/A tail lights?

Lol, I haven't bought one yet. But I AM gonna buy one, and I'm thinking that if I take off the bubbles, the tail lights will be bright as hell! Anyone know? D_Johnsen, you have a one-piece blackout?

I removed the 'bubble' part. Now all I have to do is order the blackout. I have pics on the last page on my website.

Hey tamatt, how hard was that to do. I think I remember someone posting exactly how to do it but my mind is very screwy right now. Dang pain meds.

It's not actually that hard. I took me all of about an hour, and i didn't set any speed records doin' it either
All I had to do was take out the tail lights (remove the rear plastic pieces inside the trunk, and twist the 5, i think, black fasteners and the tail lights should just come out easily).
Then there are 2 rivets, i think, that hold the outer cover to the actual lenses. I just used some good ole' pliers and pulled the plastic head of the rivets off, and then the rest of the outer covers are just glue to the lenses. Just use some elbow grease and be careful not to crack the outer lenses.
Then I used some JB Weld to glue the reverse portion back on(mine cam off with the lenses). If any of this doesn't make any sense, i'm not surprised. I'm not used to being up at midnight, lol. Hope this helps. I'll post pics as soon as I get the blackout on. It should come in sometime next week.
