Sweet...!

When I put in my fourth gen console I found a new key with a microchip in it under the carpet. It didn't even have the hole punched out on it for the keychain. I put it in the igntion, and it starts the car. Saves me the $30 or so I've been meaning to put into making a spare key.

I read a thread on here a while ago where alot of people were saying that they found them under the passenger side carpet, and under the console area carpet. I guess the consensus was that the assembly line workers would accidentally drop them in the car, and it was easier and cheaper for GM to just put another key in the car than stop the assembly line to find the key. One guy even said that he found an entire keyring of GM master keys buried in a seat.

I found a ziplock bag of orange paintballs, a golf club, a blockbuster employee tag with "Rob" on it, a baseball, a new oil filter, and some cut wires and extra fuses. Everything but the golf club was in the trunk in the locked compartment.

I got a cool Chevy blanket in my 89 IROC. I got a 5 inch thick shop manual, a yellow broomstick for a hatch lift (now being used as the prop rod on the 89 IROC hood), um there was no radio but there was a aftermarket stereo adapter kit, and a what looked like a 10 year old cigarette under the center counsel when i took it apart in my 86 IROC.

Found a set of locking lug nuts including the key, instructions and registration form to get another key if necessary....plus a lot of receipts from previous owners....including registration info....

LOOKS like the dealership kept this car for the first 3 years of it's life and was then sold to a local (in Missouri) who kept it for 6 or 7 years then sold it to someopne here in Dallas area that kept it for a couple of years . Now I have it....

Ok... I think the death certificate is the most oddball thing so far, lol.

Who hasn't found at least a seed in their car though? There was quite a few seeds inside my center console when I got it.

I found the original build sheet inside the rear drivers side panel. I also found a pencil inside every panel I have ever removed, I mean dash pad, lower dash, center console, under rear seats, by the spare, inside the drivers door, that one blew me away. and found a cigerette butt in the honey comb padding behind the front bumper cover.

You people using strut replacement props, be forwarned. I did the same thing until I noted the hole it made in my hood. If you replace the gas struts, you'll be amazed you didn't do it sooner. I got mine on eBay and they work worlds better then the ones I made do with! Never found ANYTHING other then garbage in mine and my spare key is gone too ugh! haha
