Heater not as hot as it should be.
My heater takes forever to put out warm air, let alone hot air. Heater core has been replaced, no diverter valve lines run from the intake to the heater core then to water pump. Coolant level is fine. Blower blows. Ive felt the lines coming out and in the core, both feel warm. Also i have a 195 stat. What gives?

this may sound stupid but have you ruled out the T-stat? I've had a couple that i've replaced with parts store replacements that failed in less than a year had me confused as could be due to the fact I was *sure* that i just replaced the t-stat and it should be good

maybe a failing water pump? i had that prob in my blazer last winter and it wouldn't push the water through the heater core adn in fact wasn't pushing any water at all, but the truck never ran hotter than it normally did. when the pump failed completely (water leaking out of the hole in the bottom) i replaced it and had heat again

just a idea..
perhaps the heater core clogged?
pull off the line that the fluid is suppost to leave the heater core from..... see if the fluid is coming out right, or if its just drizzling and clogged....... just a idea.

Have you felt the upper radiator hose to make sure it is hot? you said the heater hoses were just warm - maybe your upper rad hose feels the same?

Another thing is by the temp gauge, which i know isnt very accurate, it never gets hotter than the stat temp which is 195, it take the car ahwhile sittin still to get hot, could be the bigger radiator.
Could be the water pump also, autozone replacements
they go out to quick, but i guess thats why they have a liftetime warranty, cuz they know there selling you junk

I'd also check the t-stat-also--is there any air in the system? You did say you changed the heater core-so there might be some air trapped in there which could cause your problem.

ok went and checked things, on the outlet hose of the heater core, should it be a full stream or would it just drizzle out, i think im gonna try and flush the core, aslo does it matter which which heater core barb is the inlet.

i guess the best way to decribe it would be, it should be gushing out.
i'll also add, this will make a HUGE mess...
and if you're running antifreeze, dont let the dog drink it.

my car has the same thing. I usually dont get heat until ive been driving for a few minutes. Let alone warming it up. Im too lazy to check it out. Mainly cuz its so damn cold outside.(keep in mind I also just replaced the core). But when it does finally warm up I sometimes have to turn it down its so hot. lol

i checked the fluid flow, it dont realy gush out, its like a small stream, thats best way i can desribe it, so maybe its clogged, ill try flushing it tomm.
thanks again
Kevin
edit: Mine never gets so hot that i have to turn it down either, even if the car gets to 220
