rust repair
Hi. I have read alot of good ways to get rid of rust on here by you guys, but alot of it is about rust on the bottom of the cars or the sides or smaller parts.
I have rust on half the roof of the car, but it has not rusted through at all. Just alot of it on the surface that it needs to be treated.
What would be the best step by step process to get rid of the rust?
Do I strip the blue (color of roof) paint first, and with what product and tools should I use for that?
Second, after that should I use a wire brush or some small power tool to sand the rust off? I will not be sandblasting. What would be the best way for the rust removal?
After that would por-15 be good to use. I have read and heard good things so far about it.
Also I will be painting the car in spring, so what kind of protective topcoat should I use after the rust treatment?
Thanks in advance for any input. I appreciate it.

Be careful if you use ant power tools to do the job,, I have heard bad things about power tools and getting to hot.. They tend to warp the metal (not good). It will never be the same again.
