will a newer guage cluster fit?
i have an 84 z28 with a crappy 85mph guage cluster. will a newer one from a 91-92 i think,(the more modern looking one, i can't explain exactly what it looks like but i'm sure you know, and i like it better) plug right in and work good? thx.

nope the 90-92 style won't fit.
you could get a 145MPH speedo from a Z28 for your car. But i like the look of those round guages....wouldn't change it unless you went full Autometers like i did.

I've seen it done on the boards here before, but it was by no means a direct swap. He needed to do alot of modifying of the dash to get it to fit, and you will have to convert your cable setup to VSS for the speedo. Like xpndbl3 said though, if all you want is the 145 speedo, you can just buy one and swap it in. You won't have to recalibrate either, which makes it that much easier.
