what do you guys think?

I saw a thread awhile ago about a GM concept T/A. Think it was made in 86. There was a rear center console in it that looked sharp! I found a similar console and I was toying w/the idea of putting it in my T/A. I test fitted it back there and it was a little tight, but I'm sure I could make it work.

I don't know why - but it definitely screams 80s to me. I like it though. Get it cleaned and blacked out and show us some finished pictures!

Personally, I think it would be plain awesome....it would look really trick if it flowed together properly. I was thinking of doing one for my car like that a long time ago....kinda a throw back to the sport truck scence where they do that all the time. Personally, I'm big into that scene as well with my truck, and it is huge....check out any mag on the shelf and you'll get tons of ideas I'm sure. good luck on it and def. post some pics when it's done.

I got one in my car, I had to do some trimming...but it fits...

I got it out of JC whitney few year's back.

Pretty nice for people riding it the back seat.

Wish I could take pics for ya.

But yes do it, you will love it.

well I could see putting a cup holder back there maybe if you take alot of passengers...But most of us dont. Theres really not much room back there with the seats all the way back anyway...Also it might be a pain to get out of the car if ur coming out of a different door then u came in...How far does it extend? All the way to the ash tray? I would however like to see it when its finished...

Well--the car is still kind of in pieces and it does have a 4th gen center console in it now. when I did mess w/it I still had the stock console in it. Too much snow to play w/it now, but once the snow leaves, I'll place it in place and take a few pics for you guys.

couple issues, first of all if someone wants to sit behind the driver that means hes gotta get out of the car every time which would be a pita. Also i have once had the misfortune of having to sit in the back seat of my buddies camaro and it was not fun, i dont consider creature comforts to be all that important the only reason people are back there are out of necessity.

So true!! but no one will really be sitting back there--except out of necessity as you stated(kids). It'll just be me and the wife--so no worries there.

Certainly a novel idea and probably wouldn't look bad but, what about folding down the rear seatback ? I know not everone does but, I fold mine down pretty frequently (in my daily driver).
Maybe you could attach it in with the hook part of a velcro strip (like the rear seat butt-buckets) so it wouldn't flop around but, you could still remove it as needed.

That's one of the problems I ran into--seat not folding--but that's not a biggie either.

If it's not an issue.. I'd say go for it
How tall (roughly) is that btw (bottom of plastic to lid top)... I know the pic probably makes it seem bigger than it actually is.
