Red Turn Signal Indicator?!?!?

Now I know this can't be stock but I could be wrong - I had bought an 88 Iroc Convertible a couple of months ago, and the interior turn signal indicators (in the dash near the Speedo and Tach) flash red when I use my signals. I've had a few Irocs in the past (86 and 87 - non-convertibles) and thought they were green.

Is it suppose to be green? If they are, anyone know how to get them back to green? I know there is usually just a green plastic thing there, but if they're gone, any ideas on how to get some replacements? Or what else to use - don't want to start a fire in my dash?

I applogize for such a stupid question, but wanted to make sure before I rip into the dash.

Thanks

Unless the red really bothers you, I wouldn't go through the minor hassle of changing them. The previous owner has just removed those transparent green lenses, and used a red-tinted bulb in place of the clear one. You could just swap out the bulb for nearly any color you desire, or use LED's in place of a bulb.

Eh, that would bother me. It's not hard at all to remove the trim to get to them. I'd hit up the junkyards. Probably get them for free.

Originally there are/were two little green discs that rest at the top of each turn signal bulb tube. The bulb is pretty deep in each "tube". If you can see down into the tube, then the lens has been removed and a red bulb inserted in its place, if you see red just past the black piece, then a red disc has been crafted and inserted. If it's just a red bulb it seems like it'd be WAY too bright. Fortunately they are easy to get to, so replacing the green discs shouldn't be too nasty of a chore at all, just hit the boneyard and nab a pair of green discs

The bulbs were probably swapped I did it to mine and took out the green disk and they are just as bright, not to bright as you might think i swapped every bulb in my cluster with a red one and did a white face overlay and now my whole dash matches the auto meter phantom guages on my a-pillar
