Whats your New Years
Hey guys what are your new years resolutions for your car, if any?
New Paint
New interior
New or bigger motor
My list is long but I would like to get an idea of what all of you are planning for your cars. and what you think you'll be able to accomplish by the end of 2004.

Fix the rust in the floor pans and bottom of the doors. Strip the body down to bare metal and get it as straight as possible (prime and block sand until it is perfect) and then paint and decal. Pull the engine and trans and rebuild both, while the engine is out paint and detail under hood. Reistall the new interior parts.
Doesn't sound like that much but it going to be alot of work.

(1) To finish putting in the new seat upholstery -- once it gets warmer.
(2) And, to paint the car.
(1) I will get done. (2) is iffy.

Robyn, how much of that do you think you'll accomplish during 2004?
Hopefully all of it by early summer. The rust in the floor pans and along the bottom of the doors is just surface rust, should sand out pretty easily and then Por 15 everything. As far as painting goes that is what my brother does for a living (restores 60-70's Mopars) so I will take it to his shop and do the work there. The body is basically straight with a few dings "in the hood of all places, looks like someone hit it with a stick 3-4 times). The old paint will be stripped via media blasting (baking soda, done by one of the contractors with the shop) which will be safe for the metal and rubber/fiberglass parts and will include the engine bay. I believe I should be able to prime and block the entire car about 3 times and have a smooth foundation for paint. The part that I am a little worried about is the engine as I have never rebuilt one, but am currently doing alot of reading. After that it is just put everything back together.

1: Rebuild my 327 and transfer all goodies to it from the destroyed 305.
2: Finish '93 Camaro dash/door panel/console installation (Just got started, and it's already messy).
3: Install existing prototype tilt hood mechanism and work the bugs out.
4: Continue hunting a T56
5: Drive baby, drive...
Hopefully that's all realistic to tackle in a year, but we'll see, I guess

I know how how those jobs can consume so much time and $$$$ real quick. Before you know it the year is gone and you say where did the time and money go! Unless your able to devote a least 3 to 4 hours per day and whatever time the old lady gives you. Depending how much conpetition she feels is between her and your other girl, your ride. Woman can really feel the high competion when her boyfriend or husband owns a third Gen F-car. I don't even want to go into that but I'm sure all of you feel the tention from time to time?
Enjoy them both while you can.

Hey 82Firebird what is the problem with your emissions? I may be able to help you with your test. I'm in Rosemead about 6 miles South of Pasadena in case your not familiar with this area. I've have quite a bit of expierience with the smog stuff.

getting my good motor out of the wreck to make sure i didn't break anything in it, then start transferring all of the good stuff into a box somewhere (big box LOL!) then, once i get the new maro, start getting things swapped in and out, and have a car to drive by mid year. get to ride around on my little 50cc honda till then.
