Fabric on roof falling in, help!

my fabric on the ceiling of my camaro had a slight bubble in it of air, but has quickly turned into the whole thing sinking in, and its getting quite annoying. It touches my head all the time plus it looks just plain bad. What do i need to get to fix this, and where can i get it?

Replace it. It pretty easy to remove. Or you can remove it and reglue it on yourself. Do a search.

that my friend is your headliner falling on your head It really isnt a hard task to do yourself and you will save a lot of money which is always nice. You will need to get some fabric, which you can get at walmart, and some 3M General Adhesive Trim. If you have t-tops the sharp corners are a little tricky but if you dont have t-tops it shouldnt be that hard. If you do a search you can find more info. Here are some threads:

you need to take the headboard down, which is what the fabric is glued to. take the door moldings off, visors, and dome light out and the board should drop down. open your hatch and just slide it out the back. it can be a pain getting the moldings and everything off so you can drop the headliner tho so be aware. once u have the board out, take the fabric off and clean off all the leftover foam backing material from the fabric. you need the board to look yellow not black. pepboys sells this "headsup" headliner material and spray on glue that matches the original colors pretty close. apply the new material and reinstall the headboard.

it can take a while but the results will be worth it.

If its like my headliner was, yes just replace it. Over the years i've tried 5 or 6 different kinds of glue(3M included) none of em worked for more then a week. In my car it wasnt actually the glue failing it was the foam it was attached to. I'd glue the fabric back to the foam, and it would peel another layer of foam off and fall back down. Couple years ago I ordered one of the ABS type headliners, no more headaches, easy to install, and looks SWEET!

They can get pretty expensive. I would recover it, especially since you can recover it for a fraction of what it will cost you to buy one elsewhere.

I've re-applied mine twice now...The first time i just glued it with that heads up stuff. Second time I pulled the whole thing off and took a dry scrub brush to it and got all the left over foam off. I removed the foam from the 'board' (wished GM had used ABS the whole time) I also removed the foam from the original material and re-used that. It hasnt even started to fall down yet and its been like 2 months. I dont drive with the windows down as much anymore I think that could have a little something to do with it. Point being its the foam that falls apart and causes your headliner to fall in. Remove the foam and apply a bunch of glue and you should be very happy with the results. the $150+ you'll save is well worth the attempt.
