Custome intake?!?!?
Anyone have any ideas about my thought of cutting a hole into my front bumper area in the plastic fx, just where one might put a front lic. plate.....and then using some pvc or custom molding to make my own intake system that would allow for air to be guided towards the radiator?!?!?!
My idea for the winter months would be to make an air-tight(as much as possible!) cover with rubber seals along the inside edges that would be attatched by using some hood pins used on each side. .....hmmmm...
THoughts, comments, questions, criticism?!?!

personally - I think it's a really bad idea. Paint on the nose is easily crackable without cutting a hole in it. If you're having problems with cooling, why don't you make sure your radiator and air deflector are in good shape?

Yes, that is not a very good idea, but you're welcome to try.. What shape is your car in, and are you willing to risk it ? Not only that.... you know all those rock chips that hit your radiator even when its behind a bumper ? Think of a hole right infront of it, you radiator might have a O shaped hole pissing out radiator fluid everywhere soon. But if you think it may increace performace... i dont think it would affect it that much... I do not have any real knowlage to back any of this up... thats why this is a forum.

thanks!...
...thanks for the input so far. I'm not actually going to try it, since it does'nt seem like it would really increase performance that much.....and the whole idea of rocks, tree branches, hail, etc. ...hitting my radiator is'nt the most pleasant!I'm just always somehow comming up with various ideas for a 3rd gen. I appreciate the feed back though!

I don't know much about your car, but if you are more concerned with go and not so much show..... You could slap on a sport coupe or F41 type front cover with the slots already provided. Fr what its worth

Actually, my inspiration for the idea came from seeing so many 4th gen camaros where I live and noticing the front air vents on them....and noticing that the 3rd gen camaros also have the same thing...or so thats how it seems at least.

the nose on my car is going to look like this come summer. I got in a small accident and have to replace the front bumper cover anyways so it seemed like a good time to do it. I already cut it out on the broken cover and it looks mean cant wait to get it all done and put together. The scoop in the middle is for a ram air intake and the turn signal area is going to be ducted for air cooled front brakes. Probably going to wire up some small leds for turn signals.
