Fog Lights from scratch...???

I'll be replacing the RS grille with a new Z-bowtie grille soon.

I'd like to put fog lights in it, and am just wondering how much work it will be to mount them without the stock brackets--actually, for that matter, can I buy the stock brackets and bolt a set of aftermarket lights to them without a major fabrication?

If anyone has close-up photos of the foglights installed showing any mounting details, I'd appreciate it.

We all know aftermarket lights are cheap, and I really don't care what kind of light they throw, I'll be putting them on for looks mainly...also I think black housings would look better for my purposes anyway...

Thanks.

That's what I did on my 85. Both the foglights were trashed from the previous owners accident, but the brackets were only bent. So I straightened the brackets and mounted the aftermarket ones.

If I remember right, I just needed to drill a new hole in the brackets to mount em up.

It would be pretty easy to make your own brackets though.

Is this what I need?

Been checking, found this diagram, BUT...

They list that this part is for Z-28s from 85-92,
"Other" from 88-92.

Obviously, I am between somewhere, since my car is an RS ("other") not a Z-28, however the grille is a Z-28 grille for a 92.

Is this the part I need, and will all the holes I need in my radiator support or bumper bracketing be there already? ---Or will I have to mangle something to bolt this part in?

Thanks!!

Oh, Thank You to 1LE for the photos, although now I'm confused, because yours don't look anything like the ones in the diagram. What gives??? Are yours stock, or am I looking at the wrong part???

That's what my brackets looked like. I just drilled a new hole in the back of that to accept the pilot bolt for the new fogs.

Also, when I was rebuilding my 87 IROC, I got my front end assy from an 88 or 89 RS with the non fog grille, and the impact bar was predrilled for those brackets even though it wasn't equipped with fogs.

Hope that helps

Sorry for the confusion(dean92rs).No,those are aftermarket f.lamps.The brackets are home made.Although my brackets bolt exactly where the factory brackets would be(uses same hole) if i had the stock f.lamps on.Except my brackets are on the underside of the bumper as opposed to the factory ones which go on the(inside)of the bumper.
