My windows seem to be hitting the stripping

You guys probably are gonna think this is weird, but for some strange reason it seems that my windows are actually hitting the black stripping and as a result its leaving a big gap... Sometimes oddly it closes fine and other times i sometimes line it up like exactly to the point where it seems like it will probably close perfectly (as far as there is no way for water to get in) but it can obviously be mustered up a lil more via the switch....Im really confused by this? The door latch and everything close pretty good compared to other 89 firebirds ive messed with, so Im kinda dumbfounded by this? Is the door sagging or something(but wouldnt that make the window get lower?) I dont get it if anyone of you guys have dealt with this before and could spare me some wisdom- Thanks...

Where precisely is it hitting the weatherstripping. T-tops, back edge of window, hard top?

Mine use to do that, the outer strip on the t-top sags in the front or rear corner right and its getting traped under the window when you close it. Well I just trimed it up alittle bit with a razor and the problem was solved. it shouldn't cause any leaks unless the rain is going sidways, I havent' had a problem with it ill see if I can get a picture of what I am talking about for you. It looks ok but I want to put all new weather stripping in my car.

Are you saying your window goes up too highThere are stops/limiters that may be loose. If so the window CAN be adjusted. You have to remove your door panel. The high stops & low stops to keep your glass from going too far either way.You can also adjust if it sticks out/in too far at the top & also if it tilts up OR down at the front or rear when you roll it up.The factory shop manual & to some extent (chilton/haynes) also have a section from the factory shop manuals. The diagrams show you how to fix/adjust it.If thats what you are asking....

I don't know if this is the same problem or not. On the t-top, not the seal, but the part that overhangs the window. The window hits that when I close the door with the window up, when I am in the car I roll the window down some then back up, or when I am outside the car, I have to push the top of the window in.

Your window needs adjusting.Looks like its out too far when rolled up.There is a diagram in the chilton/hanyes mauals that shows you how to fix it...
