wow, i think you would have to do alot of change's. 1st, no speedo cable in 1991. electric vss. i think you would have to change some location's of the pin. better get some wiring charts to see if its possible. best of luck, tom

I'm actually planning attempting to do this in my 84 this summer.

From what I've read, you will need to replace your cable speedo with a VSS and buffer box. I've got the buffer box, are junk yards about the only place you can get the VSS? I just really don't feel like going to the yard, and having to go under the car, and trying to remove this, then get home to find out it doesn't work or something.

The instrument cluster is shaped differently, so you'll have to replace the entire dashboard.

and yes, the wiring harnesses from the 2 years are different, so some wiring changes will need to be done. I have comparison chart for 84 to 92 if you want a copy let me know.

Chris.

Are you taking pictures as you go through this swap, and taking notes of what you have to do?

Your car 83 will be very similar to my 84, so once your done would you mind posting pics of what you had to do, and maybe some tips?

Thanks
Chris.
