sticky hood
well this has been an ever increasing problem with my car.
I pull the hood release, and the hood is becoming ever difficult to actually "POP" open.
Any suggestions?
No, no rust that I can see.
Yes good hood struts
Bigger stronger spring?
make new release mechanisim?

I had this problem. I could pull my cable and you could hear it pop but it didn't raise AT ALL. I replaced the cable because the housing on my was broken...still didn't work. Well, after reading another thread a few days ago, and forcing my hood up, I drowned my latch with WD40...I mean DROWNED! Well, lo and behold, the next morning I went outside and it just popped right up. :lala:

If it doesn't open, just lightly hit the front of the hood, and it should pop up. WD-40 is good.....dries up fast tho. I use grease on all the latch assembly, and it seems to fix it for a month or so. Haven't found a permanent fix tho. If it doesn't open, just lightly hit the front of the hood, and it should pop up.

I love grease, you will never find a squeeky door in my car
Just put some on there every once in a while, you can spray some I spray some WD40 on the grease for my hood latch and doors, it seems to break it down and help it work its way in.

I grab the edge above the headlights and feel like I am going to rip the freaker off the hood, and it still does nothing. Maybe after a couple min's of shaking it will pop up.
I am thinking of removing the spring, welding on 1.5"X1.5" 1/4 plate and possibly making another hook mechanisim, or reinforceing the one there to stop the damn thing from bending. Maybe 3/16"X1/4"X3/16" strips.
This will be a weekend project, I will post what happens.
