What size bulbs are in our tail lights? I need to put more powerful bulbs in. I'm tinting my blackout more. What is the safest size that I can put in and not affect any wiring?

It says 2057 on Sylvania's website. Does anybody know if any other part #'s will work?

Cool. I found this:
https://www.netdisty.net/ds/aut1157m/default.asp
I'm thinking of tinting the cover pretty dark, so the LED's would have to be bright. And these are. What do ya think?

***Edit***
I just bought 6 red LEDs from:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR
I got the ones with 19 LEDs each. I'm hoping these will be enough. If not, I'll have to send them back and try the 30 LED ones. Do you guys think my plan will work out? I'll take pics tomorrow of the blackout normal, and after I tint them (if I get a chance to tomorrow).

I used the eurolite/coolblue 1157's.

They look exactly the same, but a lot brighter!

You have pics? I should get my LED's by the end of the week, so I'll post pics either Friday or Sat.

I'm using 3496. They work fine and I haven't noticed any side effects. They're brighter than 2057; however, I don't know if those would be bright enough for what you're doing.

I don't have any nighttime pics. You wouldn't know unless you leave one "old" bulb in. That's what I did out just to see the difference.

...I don't think it would work throught the blackouts.

Did ya'll experience any flasher problems? i.e flashing faster because of the low amp draw of the LED's?

I put 1157 xenons(super wht)for the brk lights.Because i blacked out my taillights(nightshades).I was told by a couple of retailers that sell both types. That incadesent(xenon/halogen)type bulbs are brighter than L.E.Ds.Although ive seen some pretty bright l.e.ds(ones w/12 or so l.e.ds).I have no complaints with my xenons.B.T.W. brake/Fr signal lamps use 1157,backup/Rr signals use 1156.You can tell which is which by looking at the bottom of bulb.1157s have 2 contact points(1 for ea filament)1156 have 1 in the center(1 filament)....
