Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
I still have a 86 iroc with the tpi motor and i don't plan on changing it any time soon. So would I be using the lt1 cluster for the 4th gen dash for everything to work? I wad a little lost not that.

if your switching the whole dash than yes unless you wanted to mold the 3rd into the 4th, but youd have to figure out how to make it work

likely not, go pick smoe up for acheap at a junkyard and chek. im guessing not they arent exactly the same so if you were able to make it work at all yourd have to cut alot. thirdgens had t top holders

do a search. its been covered a few times
Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
I did a search but could not find specifics. I need to know stuff like will i have to re splice the connectors to make the 4th gen pump and sending unit work in the 3rd gen. Will there be too much pressure pumping the gas to my 305 tbi ect.

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
if your using the 4th gen pump on a tbi youll need a regulator. pump should be the same, in order to make the gas guage work i believe you can use a 98-02 v6 fbody snding unit and that will properly connect into the thirdgen guages. idk how to connect all the evap stuff but for lines just cut off the 4th gen plastic a little but and connect rubber hose to metal stock hardlines
Re: 4th gen seats
Ive placed electric 4th gen seats in my 3rd gen. Not hard at all. Even with the wiring, nothing hard about it.

just my opinion but i don't think the forth gen dashes are any more attractive than the third gen dashes.has anyone swapped in the dash from another car?

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
Quick question:
Anyone have any in-progress pics for pretty decent fitting 98+ consoles? IDK what happened to mine... It fit pretty good in the 87, but the front has lifted a full inch in the 88? I don't think the radio pod made that much of a difference in the 87...
Currently finishing some loose ends with the 93 dash, mostly aftermarket wiring, but still need to get terminals for the C100 and the wires I need to add to it that it doesn't have (reverse lights for the T-5, for one thing). Personally, having had a 93 Grand Prix and been in J-bodies that had a gap between the front of the console and the bottom of the dash, I don't think the 3" gap (estimated) between the bottom of the 93's radio trim and the front of the 98 console is that bad. I just had to stuff the wires for the console under the carpet. Possibly a good place for gauges?

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
it does but they are sorta random, some run at one pressure some at others. i took mine off my truck and put a regulator with a guage so i could read it and you can bump up the pressure a little too which helps power a little too.

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
Well, I got the console to fit... Took a couple hours cutting and sanding in the compartment and underneath and I ended up drilling a hole in the floor pan for a front bolt.
Wiring is finished, but I haven't tested the VSS yet. I know the reverse light switch works, though.
Moving on to the park brake lever... The switch on the back of mine broke. The lever seems to like to sit too high for my liking with the console. Assuming I keep the same cables (staying drum for now), does the complete lever assembly swap rather easily (as in bolt and go)? I'm going to have to either get the lever out of the 93 donor at the J/Y, or one or the other replacement brake light switches (I haven't wired in the 3rd gen connector to the 4th gen harness yet and/or lengthened the 4th gen wire).
Oh, and with some minor trimming to the housing, the power window switch from an 88-93 W-body fits in the hole for the 98-02 ashtray. Auto down is nice

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
For the plastic gas tank swap I had to splice the connector coming out of the 3rd gen body to the connector going into the tank. I had to trim the filler neck, and since I'm using the tank on a tpi engine, I had to remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel pump. I also had to cut a plastic support off of the tank to make it fit. This may not be entirely necessary, but the support wasnt doing anything, so I cut it to make my life easier. If you want to know how much gas is in the tank, you'll have to get an aftermarket gauge that matches the resistance values of the new tank. I never did figure out what I had to do to make the evap system work, I'd like to know that myself actually.
I also bought some fuel hose from autozone, and clamped one end to the pump's ports, and the other ends to the metal lines of the 3rd gen. The sender line is setup on the third gen such that it screws in, so I just cut off the end of the metal line on the 3rd gen's tank and clamped the rubber fuel line to it. You absolutely do not need new lines, just about ten bucks of fuel hose.

Also, do 4th gen front seat belts fit? I know you have to cut the notch for rear belts, but I never saw anything about the fronts.
Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
Ending my 3 rd gen project car and finding that the steering column is dead. Can I use a 2000 Camaro column I have in a trashed car ? Anyone has done such a swap ?

Re: 4th Gen Interior/Exterior compatibilty List
I would like to know what swaps over FROM a 3rd gen into a 4th gen. I'm looking to get a 4th gen camaro or firebird V6 5 spd, and I may have found a '94 camaro, but it needs driver's side door hinges and a driver's side door latch, and all I can find online are passenger sides for some reason. I can't even find any mention of a driver's side door latch. If I can't swap them from 3rd to 4th, does anybody know where I can find these things new, just in case I get the car?

Are front sway bars interchangeable between 3rd and 4th gens? I've seen reference to such but nothing specific.

If I had the money it would make sense to do driveshaft, rear end and tank all at the same time.
