Well now its happened to me.
My once near perfect dash has now been cracked by unseasonable cold weather. This is going to drive me crazy because I will see it every time I drive. Even though I don't plan on keeping the car, I still don't want to see those cracks.
Is there a quick fix to this problem?

I feel your pain man I was working on some lighting in my car and had the pad off and was dumb enough to put it on top of my moms car....I went inside...she drove away with it on top of her car....found it the next morning destroyed. Not a huge deal cause I had an extra but like a month after I put it in it got a crack similar to yours!
Those cloth covers look like *** tho IMO, I'd much rather just get a new dash but they cost money...

I have 2 brand new ABS plastic dash pad covers that are already painted. They match the factory dashpad perfectly. These won't crack! $80 shipped anywhere in the continental US. If anyone is interested just email or pm me.

Keep it polished all the time. It will reduce the wear on your dash because it conditions it. I use Armoral wipes regularly. They also protect against fade.
Although, we already have it going against us having GM dashes

Thanks for the pictures drain89! I need to look at my funds, but those covers do look good.
Do you think it is possible to cut the holes out and put some black speaker grill fabric there instead?
Here's the pic that drain89 sent me:

No problem.
As for making speaker grilles, yes I think it could be done relatively easy. Or an even easier route would be to find a set of speaker grilles from a set of 4x6's or probably even better, a set of 4x6 plate speakers and use them. I've thought about doing the same thing myself though.

Just don't do Like I did to my old pad, got in in a hurry and knocked the corner of the pad off with my knee. But I got a replacement for 70 bucks, After glueing the corner on 3 times and it falling off every few weeks.
But for anyone that lives up north untill someone starts making a dash pad for our cars I would recommend the abs cover, it should last for a long time. here in ga it never gets cold enough to crack the pad on its own, the sun is a different story, but a sunshade and meguires solves that issue.

I have not had a problem with my dash cracking for the two years I have had my car, and I am pretty sure it is the original dash. I use petroleum jelly on mine to moisturize it. And it leaves a shine longer than other products I have tried on interior peices. I just put a light film on the dash, then wipe off the excess with a rag. And my car is just sitting outside right now, and it has been pretty much for the two years I have had it. From extreme heat in the summer, to pretty cold in the winter, and it has held up for me so far. Don't know if I am just lucky, or if my idea works.

Armoral keeps the dash from drying out/fading, I always keep my interior detailed. Do it once a week.

Ebay, It'll run you just shy of $100 for one with shipping plus you'll still have to have it painted. Sold one car before I put it on and am going with fiberglass dash to fit my cage, and maybe a 4th gen dash if I can't fit all these damn autometer gauges in the 90-92 camaro dash, but needless to say.....I can't use other one either. $50 plus actual shipping either one. $20 shipped for the glove box lid cover.
