Never dealt with an auto, but if its a manual (if there is a difference), take out the torx screws to remove the shifter plate, pull the torx screws from the radio plate, open your console, believe on the back there are two screws holding it down. I really can't remember the rest but its all common sense man, just tug at it and see where it is being held and just find the bolts.

yeah man, i got most of that stuff off. It seems like its only being held by some screws in the back. are they screws or bolts? Do I access those through the inside of the console or outside?

Believe there are two on the outside in the back rear or inside the console a little forward of the glove box, should be two medium sized torx or philip bolts.

If you have already removed the bolts & screws from the radio/AC cover plate, the bolts in the AC control unit, the shifter plate, and the two bolts under the dash (one on each side), there are about two - three bolts in the center console glove compartment that have to be removed.

What do you mean? Open up the console lid and there are a couple bolts down there, are there not?

Lol, watcha trying to do anyways man? Im about to strip my interior myself, got two brand new seats () and they are super comfortable along with brand new carpet for the front and cargo area. Not not to steal your thread but, anyone have a picture of thier rear seats removed, im thinking of just making it a two seater and keeping my rear seats for say out of town trips with my wife and son? How would this look with buckets and back gone? Thanks.

on my 86 i took out the torz from the radio surround and shifter plate.
then took out the 2 bolts holds it to the bottom of dash, took out the bolts holding the radio in and heater control in, then took out the 2 10 mm bolts behind the shifter which had a metal brace that ran from one side of the plastic consoule side to the other and 2 10 mm's holding the metal bracket to the floor.

after that i took the hinge screws out for consoule lid not needed tho.

then removed the 2 10 mm bolts in bottom of the consoule compartment, this allowed me to remove the top section of the whole consoules, which is were the radio and shifter plate bolt to once thats out of the way there are 2 10mm bolts under the compartment that has another metal bracket goin from one side of the consoule to the other and the 2 bolts hold the metal bracket and consoule to the floor.

there are also 2 phillips head screws in the consoule compartment right in the front were the lid lays.
remove thoose then remove the 2 from the compart as mentioned before to completely remove the top of consoule.

and to access the 2 bolts that hold the rear bracket down.

got any more ?s just ask i just took mine out and reinstalled it a couple weeks ago to paint it all up.

Im stripping all the interior out of my 84 since it got totalled. My 83 interior is brown so I want to put the charcoal interior in. Then I will also get power doors, windows and hatch . Those seats are nice bro! I will get a pic for you with no back seats when I get mine all together.
