Consoleless interiors
Did anyone take out their console in their cars? I think I want to take mine out because I think stick shifts look cool without consoles. Do you guys have any experience or pictures of this type of interior mod?

I think you lose the sports car feel without the console personally. It would be like a truck with a manual except that your closer to the floor.
It so very El-Caminio. Just my $0.02.

well...with racing seats you can't use it as an arm rest. Plus they are really cheap looking and feeling. If there was a way to get a nice aftermarket piece or do it up in aluminum(I wish...I know that one guy on this board did it, but I don't have the means). That would definitly be the top choice.

I think that is a pretty intersting idea, like there are alot of first gen Camaros out there with out a console. Can anyone photoshop a pic of it?

there was a pic posted awhile back with it missing....looked terrible. i agree with the whole armrest thing as it's very nice and it completes the interior. my fiberglass version will be very similar in style just smoothed for a more custom look.

Our car look pretty bad w/o a console because they were designed (the dash) solely with it in mind. Older era muscle cars looked good because they were framed a little differently and didn't have to have the huge trans tunnels that our cars have.
I have my stock shifter chopped as far as can be cut down and still have the OEM handle on it but, it still looks large w/o the console around it... Lack of console in these cars is not befitting just because the dash was designed to have it accent the interior styling... (*edit...also.. where to put the e-brake handle ?)
