Hawk's 5" spoiler ?s

How much downforce will the Hawks 5" spoiler add, if any?
I dont realy need exact numbers, just "none" or "a bunch". hehe. the numbers would be cool tho.
Also, how much drag is it gonna add?

Thanx,
Chris

plan on constantly driving @ 145+ often, like to the store or a friends house? Because that will be the only time you'll be using the downforce from the spoiler.

spoilers are cosmetic mods, nothing more, nothing less.

it could be less...i mean if its higher then the roof of the car then it just kills the look of the car

Red87SC, the spoiler in question is only 5 inches tall It looks awesome. Check out this link, http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...l?v=1&pid=7236

somebody needs to hit up a wind tunnel and get some numbers. But I'd say since its 2 inches taller than the regular spoiler it "should" generate at least .75-1.5 times the ammount of downforce. Thats just a guess though. I wonder how well it would help out a camaro in the scca thru high speed corners. For those that dont know A sedan is the Fbody and mustang class for 3rd and 4th gens

i wont spend 300$ for one, i am going o the junkyard and picking up the spoiler from a 79-81 trans am, and im molding it into the car. much les then 300$ and it will look nice because it will be laid back a little, kinda like my friend's viper

oh, i still have the car, im not getting rid of it any time soon unless something even better comes up. i cant get rid of the louvers yet because i cant find the money for tint, i want to keep the back seat protected because it sits outside all day.

about the 79-81 spoiler, i wouldnt just use bondo, i would use fiberglass to mold it in, and it wouldnt be the stock shape, i would be playing with it until it got how i like it. if youve seen a viper's spoiler, you know what i mean my "laying it back". most people think im talking about putting it on and tintling it a little, im talking about almost laying it down, so it go out the back some more. would i be able to mold it into the stock 3 pc.? i want to keep that kind of an angle, but i want it longer and with a lip on the end, kind of liek a drag wing.

I'm still planning on getting one. But its going to wait until the car is ready to get painted (also redoing other parts of the body).

yea im aiming to paint mine when wethers good round here when it gets to round 60 or above n is goin to stay that way which may be awhile lol.

so im trying get one asap to put on mine.

no fancy ness here just goin to remove mine and lengthen the center and shorten the ends which i assumer by the 1/4s and trunk on the older 2nd gens would be what would have to happen.

i doubt ill even use the stock bolts on the 2nd gen less i get em all intact then i may. cuz im thinkin of attaching it w/ dry wall self starter screws for mock up then removing em and pop riveting it all down and molding em into the car w/ fiberglass folowed by bondo and puty to get it right just like my hood scoop.
