FIrebird headlight swap idea....

Why not use the headlights out of a Pontiac sunfire as a replacement unit for firebird lights. That would get rid of the flip up crap and look a lot sleeker. They look to be about the right size.

doesn't look to hard, remove headlights and give it a try. Only problem might be the angle at which the sunfire lights would aim in the firebird.

Hrm.... I dunno if I'd like that...

But then again, I'd have to see it to say for sure.

I personally like having the popup headlamps, but then again, I've never had any problems with mine.

Ideas

I've had a couple of ideas for a headlight conversion on the Firebirds. The Sunfire one came to mind, but the angles just don't match and it would require some cutting. Another idea was to use 300ZX headlights or the newer style 'Vette C5R sealed projector beam headlights. After some thoughs, a KITT nose conversion, or the driving lights off of the early C4 'Vettes (1983-1990 or so). Another one was a type of "retro" conversion using the headlights off of an Isuzu Impulse, looks like a Geo Storm but different front end. I don't have access to Photoshop, other wise I'd post some pics of all of those conversion ideas up. Unless anyone else is willing to.

One more thing, 1982-1990 Firebirds and 1991-1992 'Birds are gonna need a different conversion due to the diffrent nose piece.

My 87 TA is getting a conversion like Redraif's, but I'm planning to recess the lights in slightly and cover them with lightly tinted plexi. It will look nearly stock during the day, but cleaner than stock at night. I'm going to take some measurements off of her lights and try to get some that are more clear (hers have a blusish tinge).

I'll put it up on my site when I do it, but if you want to see her conversion its at:
http://www.cardomain.com/id/redraif

If you have any other questions, just ask, I was there when she did her conversion.
