You just tape it off with masking tape to create the stripe down the middle? How did that work? I would've thought it'd be a pain with the seat being made of flexible material and all.

it wasnt bad taping the seat itself, it was a pain to tape on the edge by the foam though

It does look good, whats the brand on the spray dye, ive never heard of that before. Is it going to come off though if its hot and damp out and someone with white pants sits there for 2 hours?

I used that same stuff last summer and it seemed to do a pretty good job. I only did one seat, and I coated the fabric a couple of times and it turned it all gritty. I didn't like the feeling, it was sorta like sandpaper. However, the more that people sat in it, the more it loosened up, so I might do the other seat. Or I might just get some 93-03 seats.

im not sure that it will come off, i havnt had any problems yet, but then again, i havnt been driving it either............they are a bit hard at first, now they are pretty comfortable, the dye restored some of the original stiffness of the material.

Do tell....

Ok... so we haven't received a straight answer yet... as to whether or not this dye will bleed onto light clothing. They look FANTASTIC btw, great job/color combo!
My only concern is what happens if you, let's say, sit on them with a damp bathing suit for example. I "imagine" if this stuff is designed for upholstery, that it "should" be ok? Please let us know... and again... nice!

Thanx BigMike1610!

BigMike1610,

Have you tried this stuff on your carpet by chance? I have a 91 RS w/Med Gray cloth interior and the carpet is faded and stained. I was thinking of just dying it black since that light gray is a terrible choice for floor covering... impossible to keep clean. ;(

Thanx again and good luck. Remember, let us know down the road how that stuff "wears" and if you'd use it again.

Cheers
Jim

i tried using the grey on it, it will need a lot to cover stains so i say just go with black since it goes with everything

Hey, I was wondering where youre getting that stuff. Ive been looking for it in bright blue, part #VS-5. I tried ordering it here where I work (AutoZone) but we don't carry it anymore. Advance Auto can;t get it either and Meijers doesnt have any. When you were buying that, did you see it in that color. Please let me know as Im getting desparate trying to find this color.

I just seen it at Walmart here in palm Bay, Florida.... BUT, there was only 1 can each of lt. grey and black. Not a very good selection I'm afraid. I think it was about $3.79 per can.
