Doing some bodywork, help needed!
Hey guys, I have some little and big rust spots on my econo. I need to know how to go about fixing these spots.
I have been told that by just using bondo it will bubble up eventually.
I have also been told to use fiberglass but i don't know how to smoothen that out perfectly, I will go take pictures in a second..
Can you guys tell me the entire precedure to removing rust spots from my cars body?
Like step by step...
I will go take pics now...

As you can tell the spots aren't that bad, do you think bondo will work? Or will it bubble up? or will I have to use fiberglass and bondo..
Please tell me what spots need just bondo and what will need fiberglass and bondo.
as well as how i sand the fiberglass.

I know it isn;t a thirdgen. The thing is I had my 3rd gen when I registered and then I sold it, and bought this econo. I know everyone here, and I am not just going to leave the board because i don't have a third gen.
I appriciate you trying to help me, but I know my image hosting sucks, but thats not what I am looking for in this topic.
I am looking for an answer to my topic question...
Thanks for trying to help though.

you will definately need to remove the rust, you cant just cover it up or it will keep growing. Try using a die grinder on it worst comes to worst you'll have to patch weld it then die grind and then bondo..

well im replacing teh back doors (the pic that kid posted)
I just need to deal with teh small patches of rust, so i don't think it will take too much work, Nothing a drill with a sander wont fix, but bondo will work good? and it wont bubble up eventually

You'll probably want to use some long or short strand fierglass filler on the bar metal.. it'll help protect from rusting all over again.

If I were you I would give POR-15 a shot on the spots where it isnt rusted right through yet. Ive used it before and the stuff works great and you can paint right over the rust.

A; Remove the rust with a drill and wire wheel/brush.
B; Repair any damage with filler (If possible you'll want to seal the rust before applying filler, however you want the best possible bond between the metal surface and filler).
C; Seal it up to protect it.
D; Chill out with the "ttt" posts.
