I paid around $700 just for paint alone. With primer, base, clear, flex agent, hardender, reducer, metal wash... ect. Also the sand paper adds up and bondo and other things. I'm doing everything myself and i wouldn't be surprised if i spent over $1500 already with tools.

My camaros 1st job I did, all supplies, using PPG base/clear, ran me about $600, start to finish. I shot it arctic white with candy red stripes, entire car. This also included a new fender and repairing ground effects. Only other body work were little dings.
2nd paint job, whole car again. I was going for a total color change, but was on a budget. So, I used PPG Omni, hugger orange. Cost for all supplies and materials was around $150. No body work other than feathering the old stripes away and other new dings.
My Formula project, I expect to pay about $2000. Includes new hood, door, front bumper skin, and rear skin & new head light assemblies, if I swap to a 90's Formula look. Minimal shell body work, dent behind drivers door and 2 rust spots. I'll be using PPG Copperhead Metallic, with a small touch more gold pearl, and a few different colors of Ice Pearl for ghost graphics.
Now, I just need the cash to do it, lol.
