the face abd the sides. not the underside of them (the side facing the gauge faces). and i also painted the round base of each needle gloss black to cover the factory flat black.

lol. yea the needles are all bright. the only part that gets dim is the tip of the longer speedo and tach needles but i can still see them all just fine. just have to put light, even coats of paint on them and make sure not to over do it.

hey i know this is a few months old... but i just bought these same gauges.. and i have a question
why does it say to leave the stock gauges on there and add these on top of it? i thought that would inhibit the light shining through..
i also bought some 194 LED's.. would these make a dfference as far as lighting goes?

if you bought the same exact gauges these gauges have their own lighting system. the only stock light that is used is the needles, the trip, and the odometer. none of which the new gauges will overlay

what are you using for the power source? im having a hard time looking up in the dash to find the wire i need for the power headlight switch... any help you can give me would be awesome

i ran the power, ground, and switched power over to the cd player wires. i didnt feel like messing with the dash mess.

yeah if i still had the stock guages id opt for the same, those look sick at night time, i want to put some on my grand prix but i feel the orange lights will contrast with them

you can change the color of the needles quite easily.. i used a red felt tip sharpe pen to color them .. they turned out AWESOME.. im just waiting for my LED bulbs so they shine a bit brighter..
