I was lookin at a shift plate for an 84 trans am 5 speed and i noticed that the gear indicator had a bulb running up to it... im assuming the little indicator lights up when the lights are on. has anyone tried adapting this to the camaros shift indicator so that it can light up? bear in mind its a five speed.

 

if i am understanding you right, there is a light to illuminate teh shift pattern sticker on the plate ?

no affense or anything, but i think that if you drive a stick you should know where the gears are, and if you need that to light up to see where different gears are then you shouldn't be driving a stick, not to mention that light would probably get annoying

just seems kind of silly to me

but i guess that everyone has their own opinions on everythign right

i understand completely. the pre 85 firebird 5 speeds all had a light up shift pattern on the shift plate. just like the the automatics.
i was wondering if anyones tried to adapt somethin like that to a camaro.

i dont think itd be annoying. ive been driving a stick for a while and i wouldnt need the indicator at all. but i think i just miss havin a light there since im so used to havin my RS automatic. which i just sold =/

nahh, the indicator is kinda neato in the 5 speed birds. I dont blame him for wanting it.
