Whats involved in takeing the carpet out?
Ok simple question, What do i gotta do to take my carpet out? I want to pressure wash the carpet so i can get it nice and clean. Pics would be nice if you got them.

removing the carpet is a genuine PITA. You have to take out all the seats, the center console, and most of the plastic interior panels to be able to fully remove it from you car. I would highly recommend cleaning it while it's in the car, that would be a lot easier. I would only take mine out to change it.
Almost nothing, believe it or not. I removed the ragged junk carpet from my convertible in ~ 3 hours working at a leisurely pace. Remove all 4 seats, the front ones have 4 bolts holding them down, the rear bottom sections have 1 each, and the rear tops have one at the bottom outside corners that need a small ratchet head. After the seats are out, remove the door sills, nothing fancy, just 4 phillips head screws each. I also removed the front seatbelt housing, which is a big torx bit. Lastly, unbolt the torx and hex bolts on your center console and remove the upper and lower half of it. Oh, forgot the two kick panels....two screws each and they pop right out. After that, the carpet just lifts out, only trouble spot I had was the rear by the driveshaft tunnel, took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to get the carpet over the pivots for the rear seat fold downs without any fuss. But yeah, seats, console, door sills, and kick panels....then it justs lifts out.
You're going to pressure wash it? Make sure it THOROUGHLY dries. If you reinstall it with ANY moisture left it will stay in the carpet, and particularly the insulation under the carpet forever. I cannot overemphasize having everything dry when you reinstall it.

thanks guys, i didn't knwo if it was very hard or not i just wanted to see how to do it and how hard it is. I'm gettigna few mixed opinions but since i got to good ones toward it i think it'll be a bit easy.

I also removed mine from my convert. It wasn't that hard, just time. Mine was a little harder because since its a convert it has always leaked a little (I think they all do), so all of the fasteners are rusted. The seats are not going back in. The drivers seat didn't slide on the tracks for the last 2 years. Anyhow, They are saying the same thing, it just takes time. Mine was a little stubborn under the dash too, but if you take the right parts out, its a little easier. MAKE SURE YOU DRY IT BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT !!!!!!!!! My car hasn't seen rain in a year, the carpet is still wet!!!!! It hasn't been exposed to top down rain ever.

personally if i went thru that much trouble i'd have new carpet ready to install in its place. you can get it reasonably cheap from acc, under $250. i don't think you'll be completly happy with the turn out from pressure washing. ever smelled old wet carpet? even dry it's not good.

its not hard but its a paincuz you have to remove like every panel. it just takes time. you will have to basically remove the seats, console and all the interior panels. I recently swaped the interior from my parts car into mine so I know how it is. Only takes like a couple hours tops.

Taking carpet out is no pita, its easy as hell. The center console is easy to remove, as are the seats, took me 20 minutes to remove my carpet from my vehicle....Now putting new carpet back in, thats a different story.

so when we put new carpet in.. there is insulation under there? should we replace it? what kind of place sells taht stuff? what about adhesive! do we need to buy a special adhesive to stick the carpet to the car?
